Construction History and Update: Our New PWB Innovation Centre Continues to Grow
A lot has happened over the past few months on our construction site in the Deubachshof industrial estate in Krauthausen near Eisenach. Step by step, our new PWB Innovation Centre is taking shape, located directly on the A4 motorway near the “Eisenach West” exit.
Construction progress so far:
The official starting signal was given on 5 March 2025 with the signing of the contract between our Managing Director and the construction company. Just over a month later, the groundbreaking ceremony took place. Since then, a great deal has happened on the construction site: From May to July, earthworks were carried out, foundations were prepared and reinforcements for precast concrete elements were produced. In September, the floor slab was poured and the first brick was laid. In October, the masonry and ceiling were completed, before the second upper floor began to take shape in November and December. The shell construction was therefore completed by the end of the year.
Construction is also progressing steadily in 2026. At the beginning of the year, work started on the production hall, and in March, electrical installation work began. In April, thermal insulation and further concrete work were on the agenda, followed by the installation of windows throughout the entire building in May. The installation of a modern warehouse lift system is currently beginning, marking another important step towards the completion of the new site.
General key facts about the new building:
With the new building, we are creating the foundation for further development and modern working conditions within the company. Across a total area of around 2,200 m², new spaces for production, administration and logistics are being created. Around 200 m² of this area are planned for cleanroom zones in classes ISO 6 to 9. The plans also include an open office concept with optimised sound and thermal regulation as well as glass partition walls. A spacious break area with a terrace is also part of the building concept. In addition, sustainability played an important role in the planning process. A photovoltaic system and additional roof greening are planned for the roof of the hall in order to meaningfully integrate ecological aspects into the building concept.
Several important steps still lie ahead before the scheduled completion at the end of 2026. However, it is already clear what is being created here: a company site that offers space for precision and the continued development of PWB encoders.
